I have a 1936 Chevrolet that has a aftermarket stainless steel chrome plated gas tank. I removed it from my vehicle and cleaned it up with some dawn dish soap. I used these buffing wheels on my angle grinder along with some chrome polish and buffing compound. It looks brand new and only took me a fraction of the time to complete. The quality of the pads are great. I barely wore down the pad, if any wear other than the color change from the polishing compound. These are good durable and thick pads. Used correctly, these should last through many of projects.Like with any high speed polishing, do not hold it in one spot. The key is to keep moving to not burn into the material being polished. Take your time, but move quickly if that makes sense. You can produce some amazing results on some hard to reach areas with these.
